Walleye gets its name from the fact that its eyes point outward, as if looking at the walls!
Bake, broil, steam, poach, pan fry, or grill walleye with a variety of seasonings and herbs, such as dill, marjoram, and tarragon. It is delicate, though, so keep sauces light and subtle. We often recommend walleye is pan fried, then served atop a bed of pasta, and paired with a hint of lemon and a dash of paprika.
Our fresh walleye is a good source of magnesium and potassium, but is praised mostly for its protein, vitamin B12, phosphorus, and selenium content.
