Oysters have extremely strong adductor muscles to close their shells when threatened.
We like to serve Buckley Bay Oysters raw on the half shell. They’re fairly mild, so just a squirt of lemon juice will enhance their brine and melon-like flavor.
Buckley Bay Oysters, like the whole oyster family, are a low fat and high protein seafood. They also contain a good source of Selenium, Zinc, Iron and Magnesium and B Vitamins, as well as Omega-3 fatty acids.
