Although they are both from the mollusk family and considered cephalopods, squid and octopus have a few key differences. In respect to taste, octopus is milder than squid. When it comes to texture, squid is smoother, but octopus is more tender. The two are very diverse when it comes to appearance and shape. While an octopus has a round head and eight arms, a squid has ten tentacles, a long body with a vestigial "pen" encompassed in it shell, and a triangular head.
Whether you choose to bake, grill, pan fry, pan sear, or boil your octopus meat, you are guaranteed an appetizing meal reminiscent of an ocean-side gourmet restaurant.
