Fresh Wasabi
Share this:
Fresh wasabi root brings the unmistakable heat and bright, aromatic flavor of real wasabi to your seafood dishes. Grate it fresh using a traditional wasabi grater to release its vibrant flavor and aroma, then serve immediately with sushi, sashimi, oysters, crab, or other seafood. Keep the root wrapped in a damp paper towel and refrigerated to help maintain freshness.
- Grate only what you need for the best flavor.
- Use only a fine-textured wasabi grater for the right consistency.
- Fresh wasabi adds a clean, herbaceous heat without overpowering delicate seafood.
- Try it with grilled fish, seared scallops, and shrimp.
- With proper care, fresh wasabi can last three to four weeks in the refrigerator. Wrap the wasabi in a paper towel, lightly dampen the towel with tap water, and store it in a zip-lock bag in the fridge.
