Ingredients
½ cup unseasoned panko bread
crumbs
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon seafood
seasoning of your choice or salt and pepper to taste
Mix panko bread crumbs,
garlic powder, and seafood seasoning together in a shallow bowl. Melt butter in
a second shallow bowl.
Pat each scallop dry and dip
all sides in melted butter. Roll in the breading mixture until completely
coated. Set aside and repeat with the remaining scallops.
Spray the air fryer basket
lightly with cooking oil and arrange the scallops in the basket so that they
are not touching each other. If you have too many, air fry the scallops in
batches for best results.
Cook for a total of 6-8 minutes, depending on the size of the scallops, flipping halfway through.
Want to deep fry instead?
Swap the melted butter for egg wash and heat vegetable oil in your deep fryer to 335º F. Fry in batches to ensure you do not overcrowd for approximately 1-3 minutes, depending on the size of the scallops.
