We have three types of mackerel for sale - Boston mackerel, king mackerel, and Spanish mackerel. While all three have a distinctive, full-bodied flavor and fatty, yet firm, flesh, there are a few minor differences that set these mackerel apart. Boston mackerel tends to be more tender in texture. King mackerel, larger than the Boston, is known for its meaty, tough flesh. And, finally, one can distinguish the Spanish mackerel by its golden spots and milder taste.
