Black cod is a white, flaky fish with a high oil content and satiny texture. Sometimes referred to as butterfish for its velvety texture and distinct mild flavor, it is a favorite among top chefs. Made famous at the prestigious Nobu restaurant with its delicious miso glaze. Due to its high-fat content, black cod is also good on the grill, baked, broiled, or smoked, with a variety of seasonings. Black Cod is also known as Sablefish.
