Cherrystone clams are hardshell clams with a sweet, briny, ocean flavor and measure about 2-3 inches in diameter.  Similar to their east coast cousins, the Topneck and Littleneck, but their larger size tends to make them a little chewier.  Cherrystones are excellent for clams casino, and good for chowder or pasta sauces.

  • Our Cherrystone clams are harvested along the Atlantic coast of New York and delivered live.
  • Cherrystone clam stocks aren't depleted or experiencing overfishing.
  • Cherrystone, Topneck, and Littleneck clams are all the same species of Atlantic hard-shells or quahogs. The name refers to the size.
  • To clean, or purge the clams of sand and sediment, we recommend soaking clams in salted water in the fridge for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • The shells were once highly valued and used as currency for Native Americans.
