    $97.76 / fish
    Total: $97.76

The largest of the family, King Mackerel is dark-blue or blue-green with orange or yellowish spots on the side. Its dark flesh is a bit firmer and meatier than the Boston or Spanish Mackerel, and it well suited to lovers of fresh Herring and Sardines – rich, full-bodied and extremely distinctive.

Fun Fact

The dark wavy stripes on the upper part of the Mackerel are used as “schooling marks.” By looking at the vertical lines on the neighboring fish, each fish in the group can align itself with the rest of the school and adjust its swimming speed.

Product Preparation

King Mackerel is very high in fat content, so we suggest grilling or smoking it for an excellent dish. Also bake or broil it, with bold seasonings, herbs and aromatics to stand up to its assertive flavor.

Product Nutrition

King Mackerel reigns as one of the richest sources of heart-healthy Omega-3 fatty acids. It is also high in protein, Selenium, Phosphorus, and Vitamin B12.
